It's all very exciting......we have a new nephew!!!!! He was born on Feb 12. He now has a name, but it took a little while to decide. So now the total for the big fella and I is 4 nieces and 3 nephews between us aged 21, 13, 9, 3, 2, 5mths and 3 days. Throw our kiddos into the mix and Dad and Linda now have 9 grandkids!
It is hard being away from home at the moment.........I wish I could be there to cuddle my newest nephew. But when my brother gets of his butt an emails me some pics I will probably feel a little better about it.
Boopa and i went looking for a gift the day he was born but I didn't find anything I liked. So we went out yesterday and found an Elmo stuffed toy for him. We also bought a Bulldogs bib and a Bulldogs dummy - this little guy will have no choice in who he follows in the football either!!!!!

Skype, School & nothingness
I have a new love.......SKYPE!!!!!!
Sadly, I am in love with another form of technology that allows me to stay in touch with reality! Or is it reality? Maybe I'm just becoming reliant on unconvential methods of contact?
I had never used Skype before we moved to the other side of Australia. With Skype, I can talk to my Dad & Linda, they can see me and the kids and we can see them. I think it's cool. I actually talk to my dad more now than when we lived in Melbourne.
School......my 3 ferals have all started the new school year. Chicky is in year 2 and so far loving it. Her class has now changed from a 2/3 class to a straight 2. Unlike many of the other parents, I was happy she was in a mixed class. It would suit her as she would be challenged most of the time. The big fella and I spoke to her teacher and the principal yesterday and voiced our concerns. It certainly was not to put her on a pedestal, but we needed to know how she would be challenged on a day to day basis - we know what this kid can do and what she is capable of! She turned 7 in november and 4 months later has a tested reading age of 9. She is writing her own stories, loves google, maths and asking questions!!!!! We were happy with the explanation given by both of them - so now we'll wait and see!
Chubba has settled in well to his first year of primary school. At the moment he is only going until luchtime. Damn transition period!!!! All of 3 of our kids don't cope all that well - they just want to jump in and get right to it! Luckily for Chubba he has had 3 days of 12.20pm finishes, the next 3 days are 1.00pm finishes, then 3 days of 2.45pm finishes and finishes the week off with a 1.00pm. Then it is 8.45am - 2.45pm (full days) for the rest of the year.
Boopa had his first kinder session today. It was a 1.5hr session with half of the group. He has a 3.5hr session tomorrow and then will be going 9.00am - 12.30pm wed & thurs for the next 2 weeks. After that he is 9.00am - 2.45pm 2 days a week.
It has also been nice having the big fella at home this week. We don't spend a lot of time together without the kids.......we don't have 'couple' time........whether this is right or wrong - who knows!
But everyday this week (even though we have had Boopa) we have dropped Chicky and Chubba off at school and then headed out to breakfast. Tomorrow we will drop all 3 off and be childless for 3 hours. It has been really nice spending time with him and doing everything as a family. I think the kids have loved having daddy drop them off and pick them up too!
OK enough out of me........time to put the kiddos to bed!!!
